Trustee Lee McDougal elected President

(Rancho Cucamonga, CA) The Governing Board for the Chaffey Community College District announced its officers for 2015-2016.  The announcement was made at the regular board meeting on Thursday, December 17, 2015.

The 2015-2016 Chaffey Community College Governing Board officers are:
President – Lee Mc Dougal
Vice President – Katie Roberts
Clerk – Kathleen Brugger
Member – Gloria Negrete Mc Leod
Member – Gary Ovitt

Lee Mc Dougal was elected to serve as the 2015-2016 Governing Board President.  He has served as a Governing Board Member since 2000.  Under his leadership, Chaffey College’s Online to College program was established.  The program was designed to create educational pathways for students starting in elementary school until they are enrolled as students at Chaffey College.  The program recently was awarded the 2014 Dr. John W. Rice Diversity and Equity Award.

Katie Roberts was elected to serve as the Governing Board Vice President.  Roberts has served as a trustee since 2001.  Kathleen Brugger was elected to serve as Board Clerk and has been a Governing Board Member since 1993.  Both Gloria Negrete Mc Leod and Gary Ovitt will serve as Governing Board Members.

“These individuals are extremely professional and passionate about the success of Chaffey College students,” said Dr. Henry Shannon, Chaffey College Superintendent/President.  “The Governing Board is dedicated to our mission of providing quality education and services to the students in the Chaffey College district.”

The role of the governing board is to directly represent the community of the college’s district in determining policies and making decisions, which govern the operation of the district and the college.  The next Board meeting will be held on January 28, 2016.  For more information, please visit
