The Chaffey College Associate of Arts Program in Dance is a distinguished dance educational program and major dance training center! From our wonderful expansive dance studio facility, dance at Chaffey has an outstanding reputation, a program in which students can study dance in highly professional, rigorous technique classes of all genres and levels, both in concert dance and commercial dance styles, and by professional and acclaimed faculty. Chaffey’s dance faculty have decades of experience with knowledge in classical techniques, as well as current/contemporary styles, and have been in both the academic and professional fields. Students training in these supportive environments not only gain a solid, versatile technical foundation, but also the discipline and confidence to enter into university dance programs, prepare for commercial/dance industry auditions, and in seeking community dance jobs. Students also have opportunities for performance in formal, main stage dance concerts and musicals performing a wide range of faculty and guest artist choreography, as well as performance in informal choreography showcases for public audiences. With technical and compositional training and guidance, students gain in choreographic skills, and showcase their artistry of original student choreography in informal concerts, campus/community projects, and opportunities to choreograph for main stage concerts.

Dance at Chaffey attracts university and professional company dancers along with our major students to stay current for performance, many of whom also guest as choreographers or performing artists. Our past dance students have obtained or are currently obtaining 4-year BA/BFA degrees in dance, many of whom went on to distinguished dance programs at Cal State Long Beach, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton, and UC Riverside as examples. Our past and current students also work in community dance jobs as dance/fitness instructors, personal trainers, coaches, high school drill team/color guard instructors, free-lance artists, etc. And many students have gone on to do television/film work, performers at Disneyland, contracted dancers with regional ballet and modern companies, or commercial work for music videos, commercials, theatre, and concert events just to name a few. Students gain tremendous growth from our professionally structured dance program; the opportunity is here to improve in technical range and artistry in preparing for future academic and career goals!
