David Plouffe
Adjunct Instructor

David Plouffe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of La Verne, and completed his Master of Arts degree in Art History from California State University, Fullerton. Since graduation Dave has been a faculty member of California State University, Fullerton, University of La Verne, and Chaffey College. Dave has taught a variety of courses including Art Appreciation, Art and Civilization, Survey I and II, Contemporary Art and the History of Modern Art.

Prior to teaching Dave worked as a Collections Administrator in the Department of Costume and Textiles for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. There he contributed to the exhibition "Breaking the Mode: Contemporary Fashion from the Permanent Collection" which traveled to the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, Italy, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

Dave's current research interest explores issues of art theft, looting, and repatriation. His current writing projects include an article on the portrayal of art and artists in the stories of twentieth century horror writer H.P. Lovecraft, and an introductory textbook for art appreciation courses.
