Eligible applicants are evaluated using a multi-criteria selection process. Applicants are awarded points based on established admissions criteria, and applicants with the highest scores are selected for admission. The PTA program accepts 24 new students each year. One cohort begins the program each May.
Applications are accepted February 1 through the last day of February each year for the cohort beginning in May of the same year. Specific application dates and deadlines may vary from year to year.
The PTA program does not utilize a waitlist. Students who are not selected may apply again during a future application period, provided they meet the eligibility requirements at that time.

Students who successfully complete the PTA program and meet all applicable eligibility requirements may take the NPTE-PTA. For students graduating in May, the first eligible examination opportunity is typically in July of the same year.
No. The PTA program includes in-person instruction and laboratory experiences. Students should be prepared to attend required program activities in person.

Yes, equivalent coursework from another accredited institution may be used to meet PTA prerequisite requirements. Submit official transcripts to Admissions & Records and meet with a Chaffey College Counselor to determine course equivalency.
