ADN Program Pre-requisites

Yearly modifications can be made to program requirements. Students that maintain continuous enrollment at Chaffey College may use the requirements at the time of their enrollment. Please meet with a Chaffey College Counselor for more information.

The biology science pre-requisites for the ADN Program are listed below. A minimum of a 2.8 GPA in the biology science courses is required to apply to the program. A minimum of a 3.0 GPA in the general education courses is also required to apply to the program.

Recency Policy: The biology science pre-requisites must be completed within the last ten (10) years.

Repeat Policy: Effective fall 2019, students may repeat only one biology science course within the last five (5) years.

Online Science Labs: Biology science online courses and labs taken during spring 2020 through present day will be accepted.

Preferred consideration for multi – criteria screening and ranking will be given to student applicants that have satisfactorily completed ALL ADN pre-requisites and general education requirements.

Satisfactory grade (“C” or better) in a math course at or above the level of Intermediate Algebra (e.g. Algebra 2, Integrated Math 3 or higher from high school or college level. 

STAT 10 (Elementary Statistics) or SCSCI 10 (Statistics for Social Sciences)  is recommended.

ADN Pre-requisite Advising

LVN to RN Advanced Placement Pre-requisites

Students interested in applying to Chaffey’s LVN to RN Advanced Placement Program must meet the same pre-requisites that traditional ADN students meet. A minimum of a 2.8 GPA in the biology science courses and a minimum of a 3.0 GPA in the general education courses are required to apply to the program. Students are also required to enroll and pass NURADN 3 and 3L:
There is no recency or repeat policy for the LVN to RN Advanced Placement.

ADN Multi Criteria Screening Worksheet

Screening:  Admission criteria to the ADN Program follows a multi criteria screening and ranking. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements (GPA of 2.8 minimum in the biology science courses, and GPA of 3.0 minimum in the combined general education courses, and TEAS score of 62% or higher before being considered for the program.
