What You Need to Know About Prerequisites

 

  • Program requirements can change from year to year. If you stay continuously enrolled at Chaffey College, you may be able to follow the requirements that were in place when you started.

  • Not sure what applies to you? Meet with a Chaffey College Counselor to make sure you’re on the right track.

  • All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher (C- grade is not accepted.)

  • All applicable courses towards application must be completed by the end of the Fall semester.

  • The minimum degree applicable GPA to apply to the program is 2.8.

BIOL 20 Human Anatomy, BIOL 22 Human Physiology, Chemistry or Physics must be completed within 8 years of the application period; end of summer 2017 for February 2026 applications.

Repeats are accepted for science prerequisites or general education classes. Please see a Chaffey College Counselor for more information.

CHEM 9 (Health Science Chemistry) or CHEM 10 (Intro to Chemistry) or higher must be completed with C grade or better to satisfy prerequisite requirement. High school chemistry cannot be used to meet this requirement.

  • Advanced Placement exams with a passing score of 3 or higher are accepted to meet some general education prerequisites.

  • Submit college board AP exam results to Chaffey’s Admissions & Records Office and see a Chaffey College Counselor for more information.

We do not accept CLEP, DANTE, or ‘Credit by Exam’ scores for the science prerequisites. For the fixed general education classes, see a Chaffey College Counselor for more information.

Starting Fall 2024, if you already have a bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S. college, you may be waived from taking an Ethnic Studies class, see a Chaffey College Counselor for more information.

 

Radiologic Technology, A.S. degree 25-26 prerequisites
