Business and Office Technologies

Office managers and administrative assistants play a critical role in all organizations, serving behind the scenes to keep an office running smoothly through phone communication, record-keeping, report generation and more. You could be a part of this rewarding career path. The business and office technologies program offers two associate degrees and five certificates for students looking to fulfill general education requirements, transfer opportunities and career goals. Classes are offered both in person, online, a combination of both and through accelerated “Fast Track” courses.

Career Opportunities

 This Business and Office Technologies program prepares students for employment as administrative assistants, 
office managers, and office support personnel. The BUSOT program also develops computer competencies for the workplace, educational advancement, and personal use. The program provides a foundation for developing workplace and lifelong learning skills and knowledge.

Degrees and Certificates

This degree prepares students for business and office careers, including those in middle/administrative management. Students develop abilities that create opportunities for promotions, job transitions and positions of greater responsibility in the workplace. Associate of Science, Professional Administrative Assistant

This degree prepares students for careers with a full range of office and administrative responsibilities. Professional administrative assistants command higher salaries and have opportunities for rapid promotions to positions of greater responsibility and management.  The Microsoft Office Certificate of Achievement program is designed to provide students with competencies in commonly-used business software application programs in the current electronic workplace, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, database management, presentations, contract management, and desktop publishing programs. Microsoft Office Excel Applications 

 The Microsoft Excel Certificate of Career Preparation offers in-depth competency in utilizing current business spreadsheet software to organize, manipulate, and graph numeric data.
