A Festival of Zines and Comics
Wednesday, April 29, 12-2pm (Wignall Museum Patio)
Zomics highlights IE and SoCal-based artists, publishers and distributors of comics,
zines, and other small-press materials at Zomics! Meet and greet the artists, buy
their zines and comics, and enjoy music, live screen printing, button-making, and
light refreshments. The festival is free and open to the public.
ZOMICS: A Festival of Zines and Comics and related programming are presented as part of a collaboration between The Arts Area and the Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art in concert with Chaffey College Arts, Communication, and Design; Curious Publishing; and the Chaffey College Library. ZOMICS and related programs were made possible in part due to the generous support from California Humanities, a non-profit partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation.

Lumen Photography with Andrew K. Thompson
Thursday, February 5, 3-430pm (CAA-210)
Lumen printing is a cameraless photographic process where images are created directly
on light-sensitive paper using sunlight and organic materials. It’s a form of solar
photogram, where objects are placed on paper and exposed to the sun, leaving behind
an impression of their form and sometimes color. The technique is known for its unique,
often ethereal, aesthetic and its connection to early photographic experiments.
Paper-Marbling with Rebecca Ustrell
Thursday, March 5, 3-430pm
Marble your own design on paper with Ebru, a traditional style of water marbling.
This technique uses fluid acrylic paints floating on a thickened “bat” of water to
swirl colors into mesmerizing patterns.
