Ergonomics

Ergonomics is the science of designing and arranging workspaces, tools, and tasks to fit the individual. Also known as "human factors engineering," this field focuses on improving efficiency, reducing fatigue, and enhancing comfort in both learning and working environments.

Key elements of ergonomics include:

  • Customized Work Environments: Adjusting workstations, equipment, and job tasks to meet individual needs
  • Injury and Discomfort Prevention: Reducing strain and minimizing the risk of work-related injuries
  • Training and Education: Equipping employees with practical knowledge to apply ergonomic principles effectively

Chaffey College is committed to integrating ergonomic best practices to foster a healthier and more effective campus community.

Employees may request an ergonomic assessment by emailing risk.management@chaffey.edu.
