Risk Management

The Office of Risk Management is dedicated to protecting the District’s people, assets, and operations by proactively identifying, assessing, and managing risk. Through a combination of strategic planning, compliance oversight, and responsive support, the department works to minimize potential losses while promoting a safe and secure environment for our campus community.

Key functions of Risk Management include the administration of the workers’ compensation program, insurance programs, coordination of claims and incident reporting, and oversight of workplace safety and loss prevention efforts. The department also provides guidance on risk-related matters such as contracts, liability exposure, and regulatory compliance, helping departments make informed decisions in their daily operations.

In addition, Risk Management plays an active role in education and training, equipping employees with the tools and knowledge needed to reduce risk and respond effectively to incidents. By fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and preparedness, the department supports the District’s mission and ensures continuity of operations.
