Arrival & Orientation

  1. ATTEND International Student Orientation
    The International Student Center offers an International Student Orientation separate from the regular Chaffey College Orientation. Attendance is mandatory and we will contact all new students with the date and time. The date is usually the week before 1st day of classes.
  1. Online Placement
    All new students are required to go through the placement process in English and math. Regardless of your TOEFL, IELTS, or other proof of English proficiency, you are required to complete placement process. Placement helps us determine how much you’ve learned previously in these subjects and what course level. Chaffey does not accept assessment scores from other colleges/universities.

  1. CREATE an Educational Plan with a Counselor
    After completing the Orientation and Placement, the next step is to develop an Educational Plan. This plan will guide you through your journey at Chaffey College, and will keep you on track for taking the appropriate classes for your educational goal. To meet with a counselor, contact the Counseling Department to schedule an appointment.

  2. RECEIVE your Class Registration Date
    Your registration date will be available through the MyChaffey portal approximately 2 weeks before the start of registration for the term.

    To register for classes log on to through the MyChaffey Portal. On this site you can search and register for classes, as well as add and drop classes. It is important that you register for your classes as soon as possible on or after your assigned registration date. Waiting can affect your chances of enrolling in the classes you need to complete your goal.

  1. PAY Enrollment Fees
    Enrollment fees can be paid online using MyChaffey Portal. Once you have registered you will have 10 calendar days to pay prior to the start of the semester. If you register less than 10 days before the first day of instruction, your payment is due the day before classes begin. Enrollment fees can be paid online using your Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, or by Wire Transfer.

  2. PAY Health Insurance
    Health insurance payment can be paid directly to  ISP Health Insurance. Failure to purchase medical insurance will result in a block on class registration and release of official records.

  3. SUBMIT Proof of Tuberculosis (TB) test result or TAKE TB Test at Chaffey
    If you have not taken your TB test prior to arrival, please have this done at our Student Health Services. Proof of TB test, given within the past 6 months, is required.

  4. ATTEND First Class Meeting
    It is important to attend your first class meeting. Students who do not attend may be dropped from classes. (It is your responsibility to drop any classes you no longer wish to take. You will be responsible for all fees due for any class that is not dropped before the published refund.
