ICON stands for In-Class, Online.
ICON classes give students the flexibility to choose to either participate in-person or live online during class sessions designated by the instructor. In-person attendance is required. In-person attendance requirements may vary by course and/or instructor. Consult with the instructor for more information about specific ICON expectations.

In this video, we will explore
using Self-Service to plan
and register for sections.
To begin, log into
my.chaffey.edu.
On your My Chaffey
Portal, find and click
the Self-Service
Registration link.
Once the Self-Service
page loads,
click on Student Planning.
Now click, Go to
Plan and Schedule.
The page will load
on the Schedule
tab showing the current term.
Here you can use the
right arrow button
to move to an upcoming term.
In this example, I
will show 2021 Fall.
Once your desired
term is shown, you'll
see any courses or sections that
have been previously planned
by you or an advisor.
Planned sections will
show meeting information,
whereas planned
courses will not.
If you would like to
register or waitlist
for a section on your plan,
click the blue Register
or Waitlist button like shown.
Any registration messages,
including blocks,
will show in the top
right of the screen.
You can also waitlist by
clicking the blue Waitlist
button.
To register from a course
planned on your schedule,
click the View other
sections dropdown.
This will display a list of
the sections for that course
and term that you
may register for.
Click on the desired section,
then click Add Section.
Once the section has been added
to your plan, find the section
and click the blue
Register button.
If courses or sections do not
already exist on your plan,
you can search for sections
using the Search for Sections
menu on the
Self-Service home page.
To begin, click
Search for Sections.
On the Advanced Search tab,
enter your search criteria.
In this example, I will
select the 2021 Fall
term and the Business subject.
In this form, you
are free to provide
as many or as few options
as desired for your search
criteria.
When you're done entering
your criteria, click Search.
The next page will display
the courses and sections
that match your criteria.
Here you can filter results
by using the options
on the left side of the screen,
including Showing Open Sections
only, any specific
instructors, or course types.
Find the desired section,
and click the Add Section
to Schedule button.
Then click Add Section.
It is important to note
that this section has only
been added to your
plan and you are not
yet registered in that section.
Continue adding any desired
sections to your plan.
To register for any
sections added to your plan,
access your plan by clicking
the Home button on the top left.
Now click Student Planning, and
then Go to Plan and Schedule.
Use the right arrows to
select the desired term.
Once your term is
shown, you will
see all of the sections that
have been added to your plan.
If you would like to
register or waitlist
for a section on your plan,
click the blue Register
or Waitlist button.
