Welcome Back and Update

August 12, 2026

Dear Campus Community,

Welcome to the fall semester at Chaffey College!

It was wonderful to see so many of you at Convocation this morning. I hope you left feeling as inspired as I did after hearing from our remarkable student leaders, faculty, and staff about the many ways we continue to elevate the learning experience and advance excellence across our campuses. This morning was yet another reminder that Chaffey is an extraordinary institution because of each one of you.

As many of you now know, this morning, I announced that later this year, I will be retiring after nearly 20 years of serving as Superintendent/President of Chaffey College.

When I accepted this position in 2007, I knew how fortunate I was to have the opportunity to lead this remarkable institution. Nearly two decades later, I feel that gratitude even more deeply. It has been an extraordinary privilege to serve alongside you through our many triumphs, and there have been many, as well as through the challenges that have tested us, strengthened us, and helped shape the institution we are today.

Throughout my time at Chaffey, I have been continually inspired by the dedication, resilience, and commitment of our faculty and staff. You have always kept our students at the center of this institution, and I personally appreciate your unwavering dedication.

We have a full and exciting semester before us. One of our first major milestones will be the grand opening of the newly renovated MACC on August 27, 2026. I am thrilled that our new and returning students will soon have access to a beautiful new dining hall with indoor and outdoor seating, along with dedicated spaces for Student Health Services, Social Wellness, Career Services, the Transfer Center, and so much more. It is an exciting example of Chaffey’s continued investment in creating an exceptional environment for our students.

I look forward to the semester ahead and to continuing this work together. There will be time in the coming months to reflect on our journey and to say our goodbyes. Today, I simply want to say thank you for your commitment to our students, for your commitment to one another, and for allowing me the extraordinary privilege of serving as your Superintendent/President.

It has been the honor of my career to serve Chaffey College and to serve alongside each of you.

Go Panthers!
