Honoring 250 Years of Independence

July 1, 2026

Dear Campus Community,

This Independence Day holds special significance as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a milestone that invites us to reflect on our nation’s history and the contributions of those who came before us.

At Chaffey College, this is also an opportunity to reflect on the freedoms we share and the responsibility we carry to ensure those freedoms are extended to all members of our community. Thank you for the continued dedication you bring to our students and to each other every day.

The Veterans Resource Center will host Cool Down for Independence this Thursday, July 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. I encourage you to stop by to celebrate, connect with our students and veterans, and enjoy a refreshing treat.

In observance of the Independence Day holiday, all Chaffey College campuses will be closed on Friday, July 3. Regular schedules will resume Monday, July 6.

As we reach this historic 250th anniversary, I hope this Independence Day brings you time for both reflection and celebration.
