Regarding tragic school shooting in Georgia

Dear Campus Community, 

Another school tragedy occurred yesterday at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. An active shooter claimed the lives of two students and two teachers and injured at least nine others. Our hearts go out to the victims’ families, those injured, and the entire community forever affected by this tragedy. 

While these senseless acts continue to happen in our world, it is especially troubling when we hear about it occurring on a school campus, a place dedicated to opportunity, learning, and development.  

At Chaffey College we strive to create a campus environment that is both welcoming and prioritizes safety for all students and staff.  If you are ever in a situation where you feel unsafe or see anything suspicious on campus, our Campus Police can be reached at 909-652-6911. Additionally, you can submit anonymous tips through our  “We Tip” source on our website.
