Associate Superintendent Lisa Bailey Honored by Soroptimist International

Soroptimist International of Montclair/Inland Valley honored Associate Superintendent of Business Services Lisa Bailey with an award for her service and leadership at Chaffey College.
The annual Prism Awards, taking place May 27 in Ontario, recognized leaders for empowering
others and creating meaningful change in their communities. Soroptimist International
is a service organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls locally
and throughout the world.
“I am truly honored and deeply grateful to be selected as the recipient of the Prism Award. To be recognized by Soroptimist International of Montclair/Inland Valley is humbling, and to receive this particular award focused on empowering women and girls is incredibly meaningful to me,” Bailey said.
Sue Ovitt, who served on the awards organizing committee, said the committee nominated Bailey for the award.
“Lisa was highly recommended to receive our premier honor, the Prism Award, because of her outstanding leadership and service at Chaffey College and for her work mentoring women administrators throughout the community college system,” Ovitt said.
Bailey has served in her role as associate superintendent since 2013. She provides oversight to business and budgeting services, human resources, information technology, maintenance and operations, and campus police.
Helen McAlary, executive director of community life and culture for Ontario, said two Chaffey students were awarded scholarships during the ceremony. Yesenia Nunez Vasquez and Tia Renae James both received the Live Your Dream award. Vasquez received a $4,000 award, while James received $2,000.
“The scholarship assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects,” McAlary said.
