GARRETT KENEHAN: My
name is Garrett Kenehan. Right now, I'm the interim
dean of the School of Math and Science, and that
covers manufacturing, industrial design,
and transportation. MIT is the academic
and career community that focuses on highly
employable skills immediately in engineering, drafting,
aviation maintenance, automotive technician,
and industrial electrical technologies. CHRISTOPHER PRICE: My
name is Christopher Price. I'm in the aviation
maintenance program and the engineering program. Chaffey has one of the
best educational programs for aviation. The flexibility that they offer
of online classes and in person has been able to
continue my education. GARRETT KENEHAN: One
thing I'm proud of when I see, it's that students
are actively doing things almost all the time. And that way, the
students can interact in multiple ways,
academically and socially, to create a network
of people that are similar-minded in their
goals and their interests. CHRISTOPHER PRICE: When
you work out in the field, it's going to be
your peers who are going to be the ones that you're
solving the problems with. GARRETT KENEHAN: One big aspect
of the MIT academic and career community is the fact
that you won't just be learning something
out of a book. For example, the
aviation maintenance and technology areas,
you'll be working on planes. CHRISTOPHER PRICE:
The best thing that Chaffey offers is
actually the teachers. Each of the teachers, they all
have experience in the field. So it's not just
the book knowledge, but it's actually
real-world knowledge and what we're actually going
to experience once we get out. GARRETT KENEHAN: By
the end of the day, you will have done exactly what
someone working in the industry would have done. CHRISTOPHER PRICE: Having guys
that worked out on the field helps hone us in on
what we need to focus on and what we should expect once
we're done with our education. GARRETT KENEHAN: When you
leave Chaffey your job-ready. So if you like actually
getting your hands dirty fixing things, doing
things, making things, if you like to play
with LEGOs, this is the career community for you.

The Manufacturing, Industrial Design, and Transportation community will enhance problem-solving
skills, as well as foster critical thinking and innovation by providing hands-on experiences.
Students seeking entry-level and/or advanced level skills will be prepared to enter
the workforce directly. This community (pathway) prepares students for industry and
leadership opportunities with certificates, degrees, transfer, and careers in automotive,
aviation, drafting, engineering technology, and industrial technology.

Coordinators
Coordinators are faculty leaders who are vital to ensuring students have the best
experience possible while taking classes at Chaffey College. Coordinators help to
mediate any concerns that you might have and can connect you with your instructor
or the dean’s office. They can answer questions or concerns about your classes, and
refer you to resources related to your academic experience. Email is the best way
to reach them:
