YOLANDA CLEVELAND FRIDAY: Hi,
I'm Yolanda Cleveland Friday, and I am Dean of the School of
Business and Applied Technology here at Chaffey College. The academic and
career community of business, technology,
and hospitality roughly covers about 10
areas, everything from your basic business,
accounting, marketing, supply chain management, business
law, paralegal, cybersecurity. RAYMOND LUGO: My
name is Raymond Lugo. The major I chose
was cybersecurity. We're getting into the future. We're diving in. Everything is
becoming all online. I want to know more about our
network, how to keep it up and running, how to make
sure everybody stays out, and keeping that
secure line secure. ISATU N'DIAYE: Hi. My name is Isatu N'Diaye. My major is business
administration. I think that it's very
important for students to surround themselves with
people with like-minded career paths and academic paths. YOLANDA CLEVELAND FRIDAY:
One of the advantages of being in an ACC is the
emphasis on the community. ISATU N'DIAYE: Once
we enter the work, field we will likely be
working alongside each other. And while we're
studying right now, we're able to learn
from each other. YOLANDA CLEVELAND
FRIDAY: Students are able to take a variety
of courses that will actually lead to multiple certificates. And by doing that, students can
actually complete their program a lot faster and
with multiple ways that they can be employed
and be marketable out there in the field. RAYMOND LUGO: Oh, man. They've helped me out so much. I was actually homeless
for a little bit. They understood where
I was coming at. And they told me, it's OK. Just try to be on top of it. Chaffey College actually went
out of their way to help me and made sure that I was OK. YOLANDA CLEVELAND
FRIDAY: We are here to support you every step of
the way along your journey. RAYMOND LUGO: I
got an internship. I mean, I think that's amazing. ISATU N'DIAYE: If
you get excited about management,
business, entrepreneurship, then this career community
is the right choice for you. YOLANDA CLEVELAND
FRIDAY: We can get you on the way to where you want
to go, whether that is transfer or directly into the workforce.
