Exhibition Proposals

The Wignall Museum/Gallery is dedicated to presenting innovative exhibitions and programs that reflect the scope and diversity of the art of our time. Please review this site to learn more about our mission and past exhibitions before submitting materials to ensure that the Wignall is an appropriate venue for your submissions.

The Wignall Museum/Gallery is interested in receiving proposals for group exhibitions and projects. Please submit a brief outline of the proposed exhibition or project (no more than 1 page). Do not include any supporting material. If we are interested in developing the idea further, we will request the additional materials. Be sure to include your contact information.

Please note, particular scrutiny will be given to any proposals submitted that include the Curator as a participating artist. If you would like to submit your portfolio for review, please see the section below for “Artist’s Portfolio Submissions.” Artist groups and collaborative work should also be submitted as a “Portfolio Submission.”

Please submit your materials in one of the two following ways:

wignall.staff@chaffey.edu
(Be sure to enter “Exhibition Proposal” in the subject line of your email)

or

Artist’s Portfolio Submissions

The Wignall does not generally host solo exhibitions; however, if you would like to submit a portfolio to introduce us to your work and to be considered for future group exhibitions at the Wignall, please follow the guidelines below:

MAIL SUBMISSIONS
Please be sure to include the following materials:

CD
Please number the digital files to correspond with your slide list. Include representative images of the work you would be interested in exhibiting. Please focus on work over the past few years. You may include as many images as necessary, but please be concise in order to best represent yourself. There are no formatting requirements; however, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to follow-up with any unreadable files that are submitted. It is best to format your images as jpeg files that are approximately 4” x 6” at 72 dpi. We will request higher resolution images if necessary.

Slide List
A numbered list that corresponds with the images contained on the CD and provides title, medium and date for all works.

Artist’s Statement
A statement discussing your art practice in general or specifically addressing the project that you are submitting for review.
Artist’s Resume/CV
Self-addressed stamped envelope (if you would like your materials returned)

Mail your portfolios to:
Attn: Portfolio Submission
Wignall Museum/Gallery
Chaffey College
5885 Haven Ave.
Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91737

EMAIL/WEB SUBMISSIONS
Due to file sizes, please do not submit any emails with portfolios and images attached.
Email us with a link to your website. In order to be reviewed, your website must include images of your work (with title, medium, year), an artist’s resume and artist’s statement.

You should take care to ensure that your site is easy to navigate and browse. Websites that are difficult, confusing, or excessively time consuming (due to Flash and other such software) will not be reviewed. Please also note that excessive use of Flash and other such software is discouraged.

Emails should be addressed to:
wignall.staff@chaffey.edu
(Be sure to enter “Portfolio Submission” in the subject of your email)
