How to Become an Apprentice Tutor

The Chaffey College Success Centers hire a variety of Apprentices each semester. Apprentices are tutors who are skilled in academic subject areas such as writing, math, computers, languages or accounting.

All Apprentices undergo training in order to receive College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) training certification. Chaffey College hires two levels of Apprentices:

• Apprentice 2—Tutors who do not have a BA or BS degree.
  The pay rate for an Apprentice 2 is $10.25/hour.
  
  
• Apprentice 4—Tutors who have earned a BA or BS degree.
  The pay rate for an Apprentice 4 is $15.00/hour.
