2. How do you become a member of Phi
Theta Kappa?
An invitation to membership is extended to
those students who have completed a minimum
of 12 transferable units, and achieved a
cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.
3. Can part-time students be invited to
become members?
Yes, if they have completed a minimum of 12
transferable units, and achieved a
cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.
4. What about students who attend college
in the United States but who are not
citizens of this country?
International students are welcome to become
members. They must have completed a minimum
of 12 transferable units, achieved the
required GPA, and possess all rights of
citizenship in their native land.
5. What about fees?
Membership dues for the Beta Kappa Pi
chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is $65.00. This
is an one-time fee that covers membership
dues on the local, regional and
international levels for a lifetime
membership. Members continue to enjoy
benefits even after graduating from Chaffey
College.
6. How much time will being a member
take?
The time a member devotes to Phi Theta Kappa
is a matter of individual choice. Some Phi
Theta Kappa members choose to devote many
hours to chapter activities; others may
elect to not participate at all. Phi Theta
Kappa's Constitution requires only that a
prospective inductee make and maintain
certain GPAs. No service activities may be
required of new or old members; nor can the
chapter withhold any benefits (i.e., wearing
honors stole; receiving scholarship
recommendations).
7. What if I move after being inducted
into Phi Theta Kappa? How do I update my
address with Headquarters?
Members and other Society constituents can
easily update their address information with
Headquarters by using the
On-Line Change of Address Form.
8. I have a question about my Certificate
of Membership, my Identification Card and my
Golden Key Membership Pin. Who should I
