the Center contract staff.
What
about students who can’t schedule a math
class?
Students can
enroll in an arranged-hour math class taught
using computer and videotaped instruction.
Courses in math study skills, math
preoperational studies, arithmetic,
pre-algebra, review of arithmetic, math for
health sciences, elementary algebra, review
of algebra, and intermediate algebra are
available. To enroll in these classes,
students need to fill out a Pre-Registration
Packet that includes a questionnaire and a
Pre-Assignment of basic math problems, and
then to schedule a Pre-Registration
Advisement appointment. The appointment
consists of assessing your math skills,
recommendation of a math class to take, and
expectations of an arranged-hour class.
After registering, students must complete
the Math Success Center Orientation, arrange
their scheduled Center hours, and then sign
a Learning Contract. They then attend during
the times arranged, adhere to the Pace
Chart, and keep in contact with their
Instructor of Record.
What
about students who say, I just can’t do
math?
The Center
