Arithmetic and Preparation for Algebra

Class hours: 3 lecture and 2
directed teaming laboratory, or 8 hours directed
teaming laboratory.
Prerequisite: Completion of the
College Mathematics assessment process, or
satisfactory completion of Mathematics 510, or
competency in whole number operations, or
equivalent.
Not Degree Applicable.
For students preparing for
elementary algebra, who are competent in the
basic operations of arithmetic, but need
instruction in fractions, decimals, and
percents. Topics include prime factoring,
fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions,
percents, introductory algebra concepts,
integers, and numerical and variable
expressions.
