View of the Magazine and Journal Collection

The Chaffey Library's Magazine and Journal Collection is located on the second floor in the east wing.

Magazines and journals are publications that are issued at regular intervals (monthly, for example). This includes everything from popular magazines like Newsweek, Vogue, and Psychology Today to scholarly journals like Current Anthropology and Microbiology and Molecular Biology Reviews.

Often, instructors will only allow students to use refereed journals as sources for assignments. If a journal is refereed, it means that the articles were reviewed by qualified experts before the article was published. If you are not sure if a magazine or journal is an appropriate source for your assignment, check with your instructor or ask a librarian at the Reference Desk.

Full-text articles from magazines and journals may also be accessed using AGent.

Older issues of the Newspapers subscribed to by the library are placed near this area for a couple months after being removed from the rack next to the Information Research Center.
