Do you provide tour of the school?

An orientation for new International Students is planned each semester. A tour of the campus is provided at that time.

Does Chaffey College have Dormitories?

We do not offer housing on campus. However, a housing referral listing is available. There are many low-cost apartments in the areas. Listing for apartment is available at the International Student Office.

Can I get credit for work done at a university/college in my country?

International transcripts can be submitted to an evaluation service after you arrive. The form can be obtained from the International Student Office.

Will my work at Chaffey College transfer to the university?

Chaffey College is an accredited college and part of the California Community System. Our college-level classes transfer to the university, allowing students to enter at the junior level if they complete our program for transfer.

Will you help me transfer when I’m ready?

Chaffey College has a transfer center with information on colleges and universities throughout the United States. Representatives from these schools visit our campus every month. Our staff will assist you to make your transfer as easy as possible.

Can I work while I am going to school?

Normally you cannot work while you are going to school. In accordance with Immigration regulation (8CFR 214.2) (F) (9) (ii), a student (after 9 consecutive months holding the F1 visa) is allowed to work (on campus only) no more than 19 hours per week while school is in session. You cannot work off-campus without INS permission. Working without permission can result in deportation and not being allowed to return to the United States.

Can I get financial assistance/scholarships to help pay my bills?

International Students do not qualify for financial aid. There are a few small scholarships available with above-average grades.

Do I have to go to school full-time?

Yes. In accordance with INS law all students holding an F-1 Visa must enrolled in 12 units each semester and maintain a "C" grade average.

Should I buy a Catalog and Class Schedule before I come to Chaffey College?

No. A Chaffey College Catalog and schedule will be given to you at orientation.
