Please remember that all application materials must be received by the closing deadline of the position regardless of whether the materials are mailed, faxed, or submitted in person. Our fax number is (909) 652-6533.If you chose to drop off your application in person, the parking lots that are closest to the Administration Building are Lot 2 and Lot 12.  All parking lots require a parking permit.  Parking permits are sold in each lot for $2.00.

DIRECTIONS TO THE COLLEGE: The college is located approximately six miles north of the 10 Freeway and three miles west of the 15 freeway. Directions to the campus are as follows:

If you will be traveling on the 10 Freeway, take the Haven Avenue exit and proceed north, approximately six miles. The college is located on the east side of Haven.

If you will be traveling on the 15 Freeway, take I-210 and proceed west, approximately three miles to Haven Avenue . Exit turning north on Haven and proceed approximately two miles. The college is located on the east side of Haven.

APPLICATION PROCESS: To request an application for a position that is currently being recruited, please download, complete, and return application; visit Human Resources and pick up an application for employment; OR request that an application be mailed to you by leaving a voice message at the end of the recorded job line message.

Resumes may be submitted for any position, but not in lieu of a District application. A district application is required.

Applications must be completely filled out in detail and clearly show that the applicant meets the minimum qualification as set forth in the announcement. Resumes may be submitted for any position, but not in lieu of a District application. All tenure-track faculty positions must include:
  1. Letter of application, not to exceed three pages, in which the applicants briefly state how they fit the Faculty Profile of Personal and Professional Qualities, how they have employed these qualities in the past, and how they meet the qualifications outlined in the job announcement.

  3. Detailed resume summarizing educational preparation and experience.
  4. Copies of all college-level transcripts (unofficial copies are permitted for the selection process).  Transcripts must indicates the degree earned/conferred.
  5. A separate professional reference list which includes names, current addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.

The College does not return materials submitted in application for a position.

Applicants wishing to apply for more than one position or discipline must submit a separate application package for each position or discipline.

Completed application and related materials must be received by Human Resources no later than 4:00 p.m. on the date of the application deadline. Applications received after the filing deadline and incomplete application materials shall be cause for disqualification and shall not be considered for the position. A postmark is not acceptable for this purpose. Submission of application and related material is the applicant's responsibility. The College reserves the right to re-advertise the position or to delay indefinitely the employment of a person for a position if it is deemed that applicants for the position do not constitute an adequate applicant pool. It is the responsibility of all applicants to promptly notify Human Resources of any change of address and/or phone number.

SELECTION PROCESS: A selection committee will conduct all minimum qualification appraisals as set forth on the job announcement and reserves the right to limit the number of interviews granted. Meeting the minimum qualifications for a position does not assure the applicant of an interview. Applicants selected for an interview will be notified of the time and place of the interview. Interviews are usually held on the Chaffey Community College campus and are conducted by a selection committee. Tenure track positions usually require a teaching demonstration and/or a written assignment. A second-level interview may be required. Travel costs related to an interview will be borne by the applicant. Applicants will be notified by letter of the results of the selection process.

In the interview, consideration will be given to various factors including, but not limited to, education and work experience, self- development, job knowledge and/or competitive ability to apply it effectively, interpersonal skills, adaptability, initiative, sensitivity, and commitment to meet student needs.

APPOINTMENT: All employment offers are conditional based upon the successful completion of (1) a medical examination, which is required for all academic employees who have not previously been employed in an academic position, (2) any tests that the District determines necessary to evaluate abilities, (3) a freedom from active tuberculosis report prior to the starting date, (4) an I-9 form and supporting documents establishing proof of the individual's identity and legal right to work in the United States, as mandated by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, prior to the starting date (an example would be a driver's license and social security card), (5) fingerprinting, and (6) approval by the Governing Board for employment based on the recommendation of the Superintendent/President. Continuation of any position is contingent upon funding. Any cost associated with employment will be the responsibility of the employee.

CLASSIFIED PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Classified employees serve a probationary period ranging from six (6) months to one (1) year. During the probationary period, an employee may be terminated without cause and recourse.

CLASSIFIED UNION MEMBERSHIP/AGENCY FEE: Classified employees are required either to join the Chapter (CSEA) as a member or to pay to the Chapter a service fee within 30 calendar days of employment.

ACADEMIC ASSIGNMENTS: Courses may be assigned during the day and/or evening and/or weekends during the academic year and may be assigned at on-campus or off-campus sites. Other conditions of employment may be found in the current contract between the Chaffey Community College District and the Chaffey College Faculty Association.

FRINGE BENEFITS: The District provides a comprehensive program of fringe benefits for all contract employees working 50% or more of full time.

ADJUNCT ASSIGNMENTS: Applications for the part-time faculty pool are accepted at any time. These are temporary, part-time positions and may be located on-campus or off-campus. Day, evening, and/or Saturday classes are available. Applicants recommended for placement by the interviewing committee will remain in the qualified applicant pool until the end of the academic year (status may be renewed annually).

Selected instructors will be expected:
  • To teach assigned courses in a manner consistent with the department's standards and with the content cited in the approved curriculum guides.
  • To remain current in the subject matter and in the techniques of effective instruction.
