The nurse assistant is an important member of the health care team who provides direct care to patients in sub-acute, acute, and home health settings. All Certified Nurse Assistant's function under the supervision of the Licensed Nurse. Programs are approved by the Department of Health Services of the State of California. Upon completion of the nurse assistant course, the student is eligible to take the examination for Nurse Assistant Certification (CNA) offered by the Red Cross for a fee. The CNA may then complete courses for certification in Home Health Aide and/or Medical-Surgical Nursing Assistant.

Enrollment in the CNA/HHA/MSNA program is subject to completion of the following requirements:

1.	Admission to Chaffey College
2.	Criminal background screening for CNA/HHA
3.	Evidence of satisfactory physical and emotional health as determined by health examination
4.	Current immunization status
5.	Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificate at the Health Care Professional (American Heart Association) or Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross) level

You Must Attend ONE of the Following Mandatory CNA Information Meetings:

Thursday	November 15	3:00-5:00 p.m.	FNWP-109
Monday	December 10	12:00-2:00 p.m.	FNWP-109
Friday	March 28	3:00-5:00 p.m.	FNWP-109
Monday	April 21	12:00-2:00 p.m.	FNWP-109

Space is limited. Anyone arriving late will be encouraged to attend a later meeting.

PREREQUISITES
Bring a form of identification and a pen.
Make sure you have applied for admission to the college.
