| Health Science Dental Assisting ![]() Admission Requirements Admission into the Chaffey College Dental Registered Assisting (RDA) Program requires a meeting with the Program Coordinator, in order to verify the applicant’s health, ability and commitment to academic rigors, minimum age, and possession of High School Diploma or G.E.D. All students are enrolled under the standard college guidelines, as outlined in the Schedule of Classes. Students are expected to abide by all ethical and legal requirements of the college outlined in the Chaffey Student Handbook and the Program Student Handbook. Student schedules and estimate of related cost are obtained from the Program Coordinator. Policies on fee refunds and information on financial aid are available in the schedule of classes. State and National Requirements for Licensure or Entry to Field The State of California requires applicants for license (RDA) to show proof of completion of both a Radiation Safety and a Coronal Polishing course, as well as either completion of an Accredited Dental Assisting Program or 12 months of dental assisting experience. The Dental Assisting National Board Examination provides national certification, which may be required for some dental assisting positions, and is regarded as a national standard of excellence. |
