Jimmy Rodriguez, head coach of women’s softball reports that all six of last year’s sophomores have received their AA degrees from Chaffey College and will be continuing their education at 4-year colleges and university nationwide.

The women hosted Mt San Jacinto last Friday in the final game of the 2009 Foothill Conference Season, losing 2-8. The Panthers finish the season 7-5 in 3rd place behind Mt San Jacinto and Antelope Valley who each had only 1 loss this conference season.

The women traveled to San Bernardino Wednesday beating the Wolverines 13-8. The Panthers are currently in 3rd place in the Foothill Conference behind undefeated Antelope Valley and Mt San Jacinto. The team plays at home Friday (4/10) against #6 Rio Hondo at 3 pm.
3/19/09
The women hosted first place rival and defending Foothill Conference Champions, Antelope Valley College Wednesday, falling to the Marauders 3-1. The loss places AVC in first and the Panthers close behind in 2nd. The team plays at home Saturday against Orange Coast College.

The women traveled to Golden West Tournament last weekend to play Pasadena, San Diego Mesa, Golden West and Orange Coast colleges -- leaving with a 1-3 finish. The team returns hom Wednesday to play San Bernardino Valley College in continued Foothill Conference action.

The women traveled to Santa Ana Saturday to play Santa Ana and Moorpark Colleges, leaving with a split. The team beat Santa Ana 4-1 before falling to Moorpark later in the day 6-3. The women have a week off before participating in the Golden West Tournament this weekend.

The women lost to LA Valley Saturday 12-1 and 10-2. The team opens the conference season Wednesday at home against Victor Valley College.

Both games at Southwestern were cancelled due to rain on Monday. The team is scheduled to play Wednesday at Pasadena.

The women hosted LA Mission College this afternoon and were defeated 9-2. The team takes on LA Valley College on Friday in double header action. The women's game last Friday againt LA Valley was rained out. The Green & Gold Tournament that was to be held over the weekend at Irvine Valley College was also rained out. Monday’s game vs Santiago Canyon was also cancelled due to rain.

The women traveled to Glendale Friday to participate in the Glendale Tournament and left 1-2. The women defeated LA Pierce 2-1 and then fell to Long Beach 6-1 and San Diego Mesa 6-4. The women continue play on Wednesday at home against LA Mission at 2 pm.

The women hosted Oxnard College this afternoon on Panther Field for the opening game of the 2009 season. After leading for the first half, the women lost 7-4. The team plays El Camino in the 2nd game of the day.

The women travel to Cerritos College Saturday and Sunday for the first round of 2008 playoffs. Five members of the team were selected for the All Foothill Conference team (Brittany Martinez, Corey Williams, Britni Baca, Krystal Gonzalez and Jessica DeLuna). Martinez & Williams were also selected for the All Southern California team.

The women are edging their way towards the end of the conference season, taking on #1 Antelope Valley tomorrow at home. Last week the women beat Rio Hondo, San Bernardino Valley and Citrus and lost to Cerritos and Mt. San Jacinto taking their record to 27-16 overall and 11-2 in conference.

The women hosted Victor Valley last Friday at home, solidifying their hold on #2 in the conference with a 7-6 win over the Rams. This week the team takes a break, traveling to Rio Hondo the 9th for a 3 pm game.

The women faced fellow #1 Foothill Conference team, Antelope Valley Friday in Lancaster, losing 6-5. This is the first conference loss for the Panthers since beginning the season in February. The Panthers were down 4-0 until the women scored 5 in the 7th to take the lead. The Marauders scored again in the 7th to tie the game and then in the 8th to win. Catch the women at home this week – Thursday against El Camino and Friday against Victor Valley.

The team remains undefeated in conference (6-0) after beating Mt San Jacinto yesterday at Panther Field. The women are tied with Antelope Valley for first place and face the AVC Marauders in Antelope Valley tomorrow at 3 pm.

The team remains undefeated in conference (5-0) after wins this week against Rio Hondo and San Bernardino Valley. This week the women take on Santa Ana and Foothill powerhouses Mt San Jacinto and Antelope Valley.

The team opened the conference season last week with wins against Desert 10-9 and Victor Valley 11-9. The women then took on Porterville Tuesday at home winning both games. Finally this week the women hosted Barstow winning again 15-1. The women travel to Golden West this weekend for tournament play.

The women traveled to Irvine Valley last weekend to participate in the Green & Gold Tournament. The Panthers lost to Long Beach (0-8) and Golden West (0-2) and beat out Pasadena (6-1) and Bakersfield (6-0). The team plays at home Friday against San Diego City College at 3 pm.
2/1/08
The women traveled to Oxnard Tuesday and lost 9-7 in the opening game of the 2008 season. The women traveled to San Diego yesterday to take on Riverside and San Diego Mesa in back-to-back games. Final for the day was 1-1 with a loss to RCC 5-0 and a win against Mesa 4-3, the first win for the women in preseason play. The team travels to Glendale this weekend for tournament action.
