Subscribe to Panther Pride 12/9/08 Eleven Chaffey Water Polo players were named to post-season honor teams for the South Coast Conference. Melissa McKown was named to the All-American team, as well as, 1st team Southern California and All-South Coast Conference. Dianna Melancon was named to the 2nd team All-Southern California and the 1st team All-South Coast Conference. Malaysia Santin, Caitlin Ellis, Jamie Jackson and Lauren Gentry were named to the All-South Coast Conference team. Andrew Fischer and Chuck Camacho were named to the 1st team for the men. Gary Cheever, Nate Clawson and Kristopher Larson rounded out Chaffey’s honorees. Congratulations to these fine student-athletes. 11/18/08 The men's water polo team participated in the SouthCoast Conference Tournament this weekend beating El Camino before falling to Long Beach and Cerritos. the men finish the season with a 4-32 record. 10/30/08 The men traveled to Los Angeles yesterday to take on Trade Tech, emerging with their first conference win, 11-5. Goals were scored by Gary Cheever (4), Andrew Fischer (3) and Nathan Clawson (2). Charles Camacho and Stephen Hopfer each had one goal. Defending the goal was Austin Driver with 12 saves. The men take on Fullerton today at Fullerton in non-conference play. 10/21/08 The team participated in the Annual GoldenWest Tournament this weekend. Battling, the men were edged out in competition against Santa Ana (13-11) and beat LA Valley 14-13 after falling to West Valley and American River on day 1 of the tournament. The team returns to conference play this week against Mt. SAC on Wednesday. 9/30/08 The men traveled to Cal Baptist last weekend, finishing the tournament 0-4 (v RCC 17-9 L, v CBU 17-6 L, v Whittier 11-7 L, v Concordia 21-8 L). Next up: Long Beach on Wednesday. 9/23/08 The men have had a week off and resume play Wednesday against Cerritos in the SouthCoast Conference opener. 11/15/07 After a season of ups and downs – the men completed the season with a loss at the regional playoffs 13-7 vs. Grossmont. The team finished 4th in the South Coast Conference. Seven players were named to the all-conference team: Doug Lindsey & Seth Lacy (1st team), Jamie Higelin & Drew Fischer (2nd team), Zack Fuller, Aaron Miller & Nathan Pickenpaugh (HM). Lindsey was also named to the all southern California 2nd team.
11/1/07 The men battled the Fullerton Hornets yesterday at home and lost in triple overtime 14-15. They travel to Mt SAC this weekend to participate in the SCC Tournament.
10/25/07 The men have a week off before competing against Fullerton October 31st. They hold the #4 spot in conference behind Long Beach, Cerritos and Mt SAC.
10/18/07 The men had a great weekend at the Cuesta Tournament, winning games against Sierra and Solano. The men played LA Trade Tech at home yesterday winning 13-4. This weekend the team travels to Golden West.
9/27/07 Coming off a bad weekend at the Cal Baptist Tournament, the Panthers took on El Camino yesterday at home and swam away with an impressive 15-4 win. Seth Lacy had 7 saves, goal keeping the entire match. Nathan Pickinpaugh and Doug Lindsey had 3 goals each, Drew Fischer and James Higelin 2 each. The remaining goals were scored by Cory Olivera, John Ashley, Theo Satterwhite, Kyle Kerrigan and Daniel Guerrero. The men play again at the Citrus Tournament October 5th and 6th.
9/20/07 The men’s team had a disappointing loss last Wednesday to Cerritos (8-7 in triple overtime) and then lost to defending state champions, Long Beach City yesterday 13-8. The Panthers are in 4th place in the South Coast Conference and will play El Camino (5th place) next Wednesday at home.
9/13/07 The men’s team began conference play yesterday with a 8-7 loss to Cerritos in triple overtime. The team has a one week break from competition, with the next game being played against Long Beach (2006 state champions) at home Wednesday the 19th at 4:15 pm.
9/6/07 Men’s Water Polo had an awesome home opener yesterday with a 15-6 win over Citrus. The first 2 Chaffey goals were made in the first 5 minutes of the game, setting the pace for the rest of the match up. Both teams travel to Orange County for tournament play this weekend.
