PANTHERS SHUT OUT OCC (11/21/12)
The men hosted Orange Coast College yesterday afternoon in Round 2 of the CCCAA Championships, beating the Pirates 2-0. Goals were scored by Eduardo Orozco and Samer Kandah. Erik Zamudio added six saves onto an already impressive season. The men will travel to Golden West Saturday to take on the Rustlers (#1 seed in the south). GWC is coming off a rough win Tuesday over LA Harbor, 2-1 in PK OT. |

PANTHERS TO HOST ORANGE COAST IN PLAYOFFS TUESDAY (11/19/12)
The #5 seeded Panthers will host #13 Orange Coast Tuesday afternoon in the second round of CCCAA Regional Playoffs. The men are coming off a 3-2 win Saturday over Santa Barbara in the 1st round of playoffs. Orange Coast (#13 seed) finished their season 3rd in theOrange Empire Conference with a record of 7-4-3, 12-5-4 overall. They are coming off a Saturday upset over #4 Oxnard (2-1). PANTHERS PULL OF OVERTIME WIN TO ADVANCE IN PLAYOFFS (11/19/12)
The men edged out Santa Barbara Saturday in the first round of state playoffs, sending the visiting Vaqueros home with a 3-2 loss in overtime. The Panthers were trailing at the half 2-0 but pulled ot the tie with goals by Quincee Worrell and Denver Lozada in the 2nd. Larry Llamas scored the game winning goal for the men. Erik Zamudio had 6 saves. The men advance to the 2nd round of playoffs taking on Orange Coast Tuesday. |
PANTHERS TO HOST SANTA BARBARA IN PLAYOFFS SATURDAY (11/13/12)
The #5 seeded Panthers will host #12 Santa Barbara Saturday afternoon in the first round of CCCAA Regional Playoffs. The men come into Santurday's contest undefeated in conference with a record of 7-0-1, 14-4-2. Santa Barbara (#12 seed) finished their season 3rd in the Western State Conference with a record of 8-4-4, 10-6-4. Saturday's winner will advance to play the winner of the Orange Coast/Oxnard game. |

The Men's Soccer team ended the 2012 Foothill Conference season yesterday with a 1-1 tie with Rio Hondo. Jonathan Hernandez scored the sole goal for the Panthers who end the season 7-0-1, bringing home the Foohill Conference Championship for the 2nd time in 3 years. |

MEN'S SOCCER HONORED AT FOOTBALL GAME (11/3/12)
The Men's Soccer team, 2012 Foothill Conference Champions, were honored at tonight's football game by Dean of Athletics/PE, Dr. Eric Bishop.
"It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you the 2012 Foothill Conference Champions, your Chaffey Panther Men’s Soccer team. This team, which brings the program its third conference title and second in three years is coached by Ben Cooper and assisted by Ben Davies and Chris Araya. The team, to date is 13-4-1 overall and 7-0 in Foothill Conference action. They are currently ranked #11 in the state and #4 in Southern California. Coach Cooper attributes this season’ s success to a hard working team that has fought through youth and injuries. We wish them the best of luck in the post season." |

The men hosted Desert yesterday, sending the Roadrunners home with a 4-0 loss. Brad Kellogg, Denes Kantor, Samer Kandah and Arturo Ambriz scored for the Panthers. Erik Zamudio added 8 saves to his impressive record at goalie. The men take on Mira Costa Friday in non-conference play. |

UNDEFEATED MEN'S SOCCER TEAM CLINCHES ANOTHER FOOTHILL CONFERNECE CHAMPIONSHIP (10/29/12)
The men defeated San Bernardino Valley last Tuesday to clinch the 2012 Foothill Conference Championship - the second championship for Head Coach Ben Cooper. Damaian Mora scored the sole goal of the game, assisted by Larry Llamas. Erik Zamudio had 8 saves. The win propelled the Panthers up to #5 in the south (from #8) and #9 in the state (previously unranked).
The team also played Palomar in non-conference play Friday, falling to the Comets 0-1. Zamudio had 3 saves. |

The men hosted College of the Canyons Friday - shutting out the Cougars 3-0. Goals were scored by returner Edgar Llamas (assist by Franco Allende) and freshman Samer Kandah and Carlos Ramos (assisted by Damian Mora). Erik Zamudio had 4 saves in 90 minutes of play. The men travel to Citrus today. |

MEN OPEN SEASON WITH 3-3 TIE AT EL CAMINO (8/29/12)
The men traveled to El Camino yesterday to open the 2012 season, tying the Warriors 3-3. The Warriors led 3-0 but could not hold the lead against a determined Panther squad. Chaffey forward Chris Umana snuck a goal in for the visitiors in extra time of the first half, beating Mellone with a shot through the legs. Then, in the 56th minute, forward Jose Rodriguez cut the Chaffey deficit to 3-2 when he blasted a point-blank shot that ricocheted off Mellone’s chest and into the back of the net. The visitors completed their comeback when midfielder Jonathan Hernandez beat Mellone from the left side in the 71st minute to steal a victory away from the Warriors and secure the draw. The men play at home Friday aaginst College of the Canyons. |
