Associated Students of Chaffey College

ASCC Symbol

Every currently enrolled credit-class student belongs to the Associated Students of Chaffey College (ASCC), which is governed by the Campus Council. With a membership composed of fifteen (15) representative Chaffey students, the Campus Council is comprised of two bodies: an Executive body and the Senate. The President of the ASCC serves in the dual role of Student Trustee who serves as liaison between the Chaffey College Governing Board and the student population. The Campus Council holds weekly meetings throughout the academic year. The ASCC campus-wide activities and the Inter-Club Council are supported through the College Services Fee.

I am 100% dedicated to making Chaffey College a better place for students. I have always had an interest in being apart of an organization whose number one priority is the well being of students and I can honestly say by being a part of ASCC that has come true. The students and faculty in this institution have helped me redefined my vision for the future. For this reason and many others I am committed to doing as much as possible to do the same for others. My plans for the 2009-2010 school year is to keep people aware of not only the new opportunities we will have but to let them know about the ones that already exist. It is important that students understand that they have a student government that is constantly at work for them and that our office is always open, and we are ready and willing to help.

Being a student is often a difficult choice to make in life. When you add mother, girlfriend and employee to the mix it doesn’t make it any easier. I have always been searching for the easy button and often I came up empty handed. Then I joined student government and since found that the college environment is thriving with resources to help the population get ahead. A school is only as good as the students it produces. A student government is only as good as the student voices it represents. I want to be the resource in the lives of students that I struggled to find even existed.

Since my journey at Chaffey College has begun, I wanted to be amongst a group of individuals who are focused on making a difference in students’ lives. This Organization has shaped me for the future, and it is my duty to pass down the skills and information that has helped me to other individuals. I plan to reach students who are not aware of the resources that they have available and to make this campus a more fun environment to be in. I want to be the change that many others want to see around here. The list goes on and on but this is just a snippet on why I have joined ASCC.

My commitment is to make this a better place for all students representing them in the best way possible. As a senator my goal is to make students aware of the resources that the college offers gratuitously and make them more accessible to all.

To me Chaffey College is a great place with so much to offer its students. This is why I became involved in ASCC because I love to be involved and make the school I attend a better place. I am extremely dedicated and enthusiastic about this up coming year. I can’t wait to implement some of my ideas and make Chaffey more connected to its students, faculty and staff.

I have always wanted to become a part of student government and I haven’t had the opportunity until ASCC. They not only helped me become more involved in Chaffey, but also allowed me to appreciate the school more. Through ASCC, my peers, and my professors, I discovered that Chaffey is not just a transitional period or a school, but it can also be a second home. As a senator, I want to allow others to feel that Chaffey can also become a sanctuary for them. Where they’ll not only feel comfortable in the environment, but also learn and discover new information that they never knew before.

I became a Chaffey senator because I wanted to be more involved with our college. I wanted to learn what Chaffey has to offer all of us students and share that information with those who do not know of the services. I want everyone to know that ASCC is here to help any student with any problems he/she might have. I am looking forward to a great year and hope that everyone will take advantage of our services.

I joined ASCC because I feel it is important to not just go through life, but rather to get involved and do what you can to leave things better than you found them.  I wanted to know not just what is going on at Chaffey College, but also to get involved in those activities.  At Chaffey, I have had many people help me to become a better student and a better person.  I was introduced to opportunities that I was not even aware existed and now I feel it is my turn to return the favor to other students.

Chaffey College Student Since 2007

As a Senator in ASCC, my key objective is to be an active role model here at Chaffey College. In being a role model I hope to get more students involved in clubs and activities, so that they can be better prepared in the future for success. I am also a firm believer that knowledge is power. My goal is to spread the knowledge of the beneficial programs, activities, and clubs to make sure more students have an advantage for success. ASCC including myself plan to make Chaffey College Students a better place by making it a more pleasant experience, by creating more programs, activities, and clubs. This Will create more opportunity.

My interest in ASCC was stimulated by someone who wanted to involve the students on campus. Being a full time student and working on campus, I still did not have a true connection between myself and Chaffey College. By joining ASCC I have been able to find that connection and joy for the school I attend. I intend on bridging the gap between students and Chaffey College, my goal is to simply befriend as many Chaffey students as possible. I am hoping through my many friendships to be able to represent us as a body in the best way possible and also inspire involvement, thus leading to change for the better.
