PANTHER ATHLETICS ADDS TWO NEW COACHES

(RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA.) - Chaffey College Athletics is proud to welcome Rob Lander and Trisha (McCormick) Senyo as its newest head coaches. Lander will coach the inaugural season of Men’s and Women’s Cross Country. Coach Senyo will oversee the college’s Softball program.

““This is an exciting time for Chaffey College Athletics. We have brought cross country back after a two decade hiatus and have a phenomenal coaching staff to usher in this new chapter for the college,” said Dr. Cory Schwartz, Dean, Kinesiology, Nutrition and Athletics. “Coach Lander has hit the ground running, assembling a roster of student-athletes that will be ready to compete this fall. I am confident Panther Cross Country will be a very successful program.” Coach Lander earned his undergraduate degree from Sonoma State University and a Master’s in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton.

Coach Trisha Senyo joins Panther Athletics most recently from Riverside City College and formerly from Sonoma State University. At Sonoma State, Coach Senyo served as the assistant softball coach and strength and conditioning coordinator for the CCAA Seawolves. During her five seasons, the Seawolves made five NCAA tournament appearances and claimed two CCAA tournament championships. Coach Senyo is a graduate of the University of La Verne where she earned academic and athletic honors.

“Both Coach Lander and Coach Senyo are exceptional coaches with many years of experience at all levels of their sport,” said Athletic Director, Jeffrey Klein. “Both are focused on building their teams. I am confident that their programs will be as highly competitive and respected as the other sports offered at Chaffey College. Coaches Senyo and Lander will prepare our athletes for transfer to four-year universities with their commitment to academics and athletics.”

“Coach Senyo brings over a decade of collegiate softball experience to Chaffey College,” added Dean Schwartz. “As a player, trainer, and coach, Coach Senyo understands the needs of our student-athletes and will ensure their strength and conditioning both on and off the field. I look forward to cheering the team on in the spring as they take to Panther Field.”

Chaffey College Athletics is a member of the Foothill and South Coast Conferences of the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Fourteen intercollegiate teams compete annually under the Panther name including football, volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s water polo, men’s and women’s swim/dive, men’s and women’s cross country, softball, baseball, and men’s and women’s basketball.
