The Office of Professional Development and the Health & Wellness committee are proud to announce the first of many activities/events for 2009.  Last year Dr. Shannon gave us the charge to start a 3-year program in health & wellness, so last year we had the first Health & Wellness Fair, which will continue next year during the week of April 13 – 17, along with workshops for staff, faculty and administration.

To kick off the year we are having a FREE 12-week program for district employees interested in losing weight and becoming healthier employees.  The “Chaffey College Biggest Waist Away” will base the winner on weight loss & BMI percentage.  There will be weigh-in locations at the Rancho Campus (Trisha @ 6033), Fontana Center (Kelly @ 7403) and Chino Campus MIB (Marsha @ 8190).  We will have a booklet for participants with healthy life-style tips, sample menus, fast food chart, a chart to track your progress and lots of other information.  Men & Women will not be competing against each other.  Each winner will receive a $500.00 Visa gift card.

We will have four different weigh-in weeks with the first and last being mandatory.
