Employment Development & Community Education
The Employment Development & Community Education Department offers opportunities for individuals to enhance professional development and acquire skills to enter and/or advance in employment through fee-based and grant funded training and events. The following programs are directed under this umbrella:

  • CTE Community Collaborative Grant linking our K-12 partners with community colleges, four-year universities, and area employers by providing Industry Skills Panels, Career Fairs, Industry and University Tours, and events including "She 4 Me" Young Ladies Mentoring Conference, Counselor Conclave, Robotics and Engineering Camps, and Parent Information Nights.

  • Community Education offering fee-based programs on a variety of topics related to personal and professional development. These classes are not-for-credit, do not meet college pre-requisite requirements, and do not qualify for financial aid. These classes will help you expand your mind, improve your job skills, and express your creativity. College for kids programs include summer academies, robotics, music, reading, writing, crafts, career exploration, "Chaffey Days of Summer", SAT, and ACT preparation classes. Adult classes include notary, phlebotomy, CPR, computers, small business development, and many others.

  • Employment Training opportunities are available throughout the year offering a variety of training options based on labor market demand. Some trainings are fee-based and open to all while others are grant funded for special populations. Our trainings have earned a reputation for being innovative, collaborative, and responsive to workforce training needs. We have delivered over 100 various demand-driven training programs for employers targeting the manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare industries. Our value to residents in the region is the stellar and innovative training options provided.

  • CalWORKs Program serving individuals who are receiving cash aid from the county for themselves and their children. CalWORKs students may be enrolled in full credit programs or in our Vocational Education Training which is short-term, not-for-credit training. This program includes Office Occupations, Energy Efficiency Training, Retail Customer Service, and Construction.
