About the Faculty and Staff

Carrie L. Smith
Costume Technician

Carrie began her journey with Chaffey College in 2003 as a student worker where she was hired as a seamstress for the Costume Shop.   As a student, Carrie began working on all the Theatrical Productions and Dance Concerts under the guidance of Pat Skinner who had over 30 years of Theatre experience.  Upon Pat's retirement in 2007, Carrie continued working in the Costume Shop co-costuming and working with the Costume 40 class.

Carrie completed her Associate degree in Liberal Arts with honors at Chaffey College.  She continued working for Chaffey College Theatre developing her costuming and designing skills with a natural progression to Apprentice, Classified Staff, and in 2016, she became a full-time Costume Technician Head Designer.

In addition to her work at Chaffey College, Carrie has worked and volunteered for The Rancho Cucamonga Community Theatre at The Lewis Family Playhouse Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, and volunteered costume alteration support for Candlelight Pavilion Dinner Theatre in Claremont. Carrie is thankful for the love and support of her family.  She enjoys the collaborative process that comes with working with the talented instructors, staff, and students at Chaffey College.
