Arrival & Orientation

Man in front of 3 arrows and thinking where to go
  1. ATTEND International Student Orientation

The International Student Center offers an International Student Orientation separate from the regular Chaffey College Orientation. Attendance is mandatory and we will contact all new students with the date and time. The date is usually the week before 1st day of classes.

  2. TAKE the Assessment Tests

All new students are required to take English and math assessment tests. Regardless of your TOEFL, IELTS, or other proof of English proficiency, you will still need to sit for the tests to determine your placement into appropriate English and math courses. Chaffey does not accept assessment scores from other colleges/universities.

It is important that you schedule an appointment to take the assessment test as soon as possible. To schedule an appointment to take the Assessment Test and see sample questions:

  3. CREATE an Educational Plan with a Counselor

After completing the Orientation and Assessment Test, the next step is to develop an Educational Plan. This plan will guide you through your journey at Chaffey College, and will keep you on track for taking the appropriate classes for your educational goal. To meet with a counselor, contact the Counseling Department to schedule an appointment.
