They are professionals who have current experience in the dental field. Through the professional network in the tricounty area, they often introduce students to a wide range of opportunities and practical experience.

Tayna Cusick, BS, CDA, RDA
Program Director

As the Director of the Chaffey College Registered Dental Assisting Program beginning in 2018, she brings incite, organization, and innovation to the curriculum and teaching methodologies to engage students in learning and success in the dental profession.

Tanya has been in the dental field since 1993.  She graduated from Cerritos Community College in Norwalk and earned her bachelor’s degree in Organization Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. Tanya has her Designated Teaching Credential and has taught at Alhambra High School. She has a wealth of dental office experience.  Her college teaching experience began in 2007 as an adjunct/part-time instructor at Citrus College and then including Pasadena City College in 2010. She considers herself a life-long learner, as she prepares to continue her education. During her free time she enjoys hanging out with her three favorite guys—her husband and two kids. She enjoys watching her two sons play sports: roller-hockey, soccer and football.

Beverly Cox, MAEd, BS, CDA, RDA, CDPMA

Beverly Cox began her career in dental assisting in 1979. She moved to San Jose California but missed the deadline to enroll to finish her Bachelor’s degree at San Jose State University. Needing something to do, she enrolled in a dental assisting program to keep busy. Now, almost 40 years later, she is still staying busy with dental assisting.

Beverly has been teaching since 1989. She began at Chaffey College in 1994 as a Health Science Lab Assistant and worked her way into the program of dental assisting. Beverly has served the Chaffey community in various capacities throughout her 25 years always remaining grounded in the dental assisting department/profession.

Beverly has been awarded with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Marketing and Minor in Business Law. She has achieved the Master’s Degree in Multimedia Technology in Education and attended law school. She funded her education (and life) with dental assisting and teaching.
