Mamta Agarwal, a professor of Chemistry at Chaffey College has been teaching chemistry to science majors and Allied health science students for over 25 years. She was born and raised in India and was fascinated by sciences even from her elementary school years. As a child, she always loved chocolate however was more baffled by why butter makes it so tasty and why too much of butter is bad for her.

She completed her Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Biology and Master of Science (M.S.), Chemistry from India, worked as a Research Fellow for Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and published 18 research papers/abstracts in scientific journals. Following her research fellowship, she took a full time teaching position at a university college and taught as an assistant professor for several years.

Mamta has been a member of the American Chemical Society, two Year College Chemistry Consortium and California Teachers Association. She tremendously enjoys interacting with her students outside of the class in her role as mentor and advisor for Chaffey’s Pre-medical Society.

Professor Agarwal has been living in North America for over 30 years and currently lives with her husband and their youngest daughter. When not teaching or grading student papers, she enjoys jogging, hiking, gardening and most importantly spending time with her precious family.
