About Us

Established by the Legislature in 1969 through SB 164. Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) is a state funded counseling program focused on assisting eligible economically and/or academically disadvantaged students achieve their educational career goals by providing “over and above” support services and resources focused on academic retention and promoting transfer.

Clarify pathways to employment and further education
Help students choose and enter their pathway

Help students stay on their path

Ensure that learning is happening with intentional outcomes
EOPS students meet with their counselor to set educational and career goals during their first semester
EOPS students attend orientation and enroll in classes based on the SEP they create with their counselor
EOPS students receive book grants, one on one tutoring, school supplies, and other over and above support services
EOPS monitors midterm and final grades and requires interventions as needed
