Chaffey College and the Wignall Museum/Gallery
are pleased to present an exhibition of artwork by
the Los Angeles Assemblage Group (LAAG). In their
first group exhibition in the Inland Empire, titled
Rejected/Accepted, sixteen members
of LAAG are exhibiting over 60 assemblages and three
dimensional collages. The collection ranges from simple
and elegant compositions, to complex constructions
of rejected detritus and debris. The group is multi-cultural
and diverse in its membership, and their multiplicity
is reflected in their assemblages. While each members
work is very different in content, all express themselves
through obsessive collecting and reconfiguring of
found objects.
The exhibition runs from October
13 through November 23, 2003. Please join us for an
artist's reception on Sunday, October 26 from
2:00-4:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be
served and the artists will be present. Selected members
will also be present for a group gallery talk
on Tuesday, November 11 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. All
events and exhibitions are free and open to the public.
Please call us for additional information or directions
at (909) 941-2702.
