Chaffey College and the Wignall Museum/Gallery are pleased to announce the 26th Annual Student Invitational, Moiré, a juried group exhibition featuring recent works by 9 Chaffey College student artists. In this competitive program, all Chaffey College students who have recently taken an art class are encouraged to apply. All full-time art and photo faculty juried the submissions and they continue to mentor and advise the students through the creative process. Jan Raithel, Project Coordinator, leads the class in weekly seminars and critiques. In this unique opportunity the recipients are able to experience the life of an exhibiting artist including the trials and tribulations of exhibiting their work. They are included in all phases of the exhibition process and the gallery becomes a lab to further educate Chaffey’s art students.

Moiré opens on April 21 and runs through May 30, 2003. Chaffey College will host an artist's reception on Saturday, April 26, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the gallery. A panel discussion with the group will take place Tuesday, May 6, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. In addition, student artists Aaron Johnson and the Undercover Brothers will perform live in the gallery on the following dates: Saturday, April 26 (time TBA); on Tuesday, May 6 The Undercover Brothers will kick off the artists panel discussion at 7:00 p.m.; Tuesday, April 29, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.; and lastly, on Tuesday, May 27, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Admission to the Wignall Museum/Gallery is always free. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday noon – 4:00 p.m., closed Saturdays and Holidays. Please call for further information at (909) 941-2703.
