If you’re applying to a UC campus for Fall 2014 you will need to do the Personal Statement, a one– to
two-‐page essay that highlights your accomplishments and goals and tells a good story. In this one-‐hour

Thinking about USC?
We have learned that our students can attend a Transfer Information Session on Tuesdays at 3:00pm and/or a Transfer Information day which USC hosts on campus once a month. Interested students can sign up for both events through www.usc.edu/visitusc.
Unfortunately, we are not able to schedule a USC visit to Chaffey this fall. Please check with us for details on our trip to USC in spring.
Guaranteed Program for Admission: California community college students
Chaffey College is now officially a transfer partner with Arizona State University. Through this partnership,students will have the opportunity to participate in ASU’s Guaranteed Program for Admissions for California Community College students. They will be admitted to ASU if they have a high school diploma or GED with a score of 500 and either completed 24 transferable units with a 3.0 gpa; completed IGETC or CSU GE; or an associate degree with a 2.5 gpa. Benefits include ongoing guidance from an ASU advisor and priority consideration for the New American University Scholarship upon admission to the university. ASU also participates in WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) which offers discounted non-resident fees to students transferring from participating western states.

Making the Leap Wednesday, October 2, 12:30-1:30, SSA 227
Luis Bohon, adjunct faculty member at Cal Poly and Chaffey, will discuss transferring from a community college to a CSU. Kimberly Mendoza a former Chaffey student and recent CSU graduate will offer a student's prospective. Sign-ups are requested; contact the Transfer Center.
UCLA Admissions Event Friday, October 18, 9:00-12:30, Crafton Hills College
All Region 9 students interested in learning more about UCLA's admissions process are invited to attend this workshop hosted by Crafton Hills College. Transportation will be provided. Students planning to attend should sign up with the Transfer Center (for transportation) and register online with UCLA. More details are available from the Transfer Center.
It's Time to Apply! CSU applications for fall 2014 open on October 1; the deadline is November 30. The UC application period for fall 2014 is November 1-30.
The Transfer Center has scheduled several application workshops and offers individual assistance as well. In addition, the Writing Centers at both Chino and Rancho have developed a series of workshops for writing personal statements. More information on times and dates for all workshops is available in the Transfer Center

The Transfer Center is located in SSA 120 on the Rancho Cucamonga Campus. We are open Monday and Thursday from 7:30am to 7:00pm; Tuesday and Wednesday, 7:30am-4:30pm and Fridays, 7:30am-2:00pm. Transfer services are also available at Fontana on Mondays from 1:30 to 4:30pm and at Chino on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 4:00pm. The Transfer Center provides transportation for free to different universities each semester. These allow students to become familiar with the campuses that they are interested in as well as obtaining important transfer information. We are open to suggestions and welcome requests. Please come by the Transfer Center, or give us a call at (909)652-6233 to let us know which campus you would like to visit.

The Transfer Center organizes transfer fairs throughout the academic year which presents representatives from local public and private universities as well as out of state universities.

As a prospective transfer student, it is important to make sure that the community college courses you take are acceptable to the university for transfer credit. ASSIST is California's official statewide repository of transfer information for the California State University and University of California systems. ASSIST offers easy access to a single articulation database; it will help you determine if you will receive credit for courses you have already taken or plan to take and how those courses apply to a specific academic major or general education.
