Paul Hadobas
Adjunct Instructor
Paul has worked on Broadway as an Actor, Assistant Stage Manager, Dance Captain and Makeup Designer. Regionally, he has worked as an Art Director, Director, Choreographer, and Set Designer. In 2001, he compiled and adapted a new version of the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde, and his adaptation has been performed by over 100 theaters nationwide.
In addition to being a union member of Actor’s Equity, Paul is also a member of the IATSE Local Hair & Makeup Union. He has worked as a theatrical makeup artist throughout much of his 35 years in professional theater. Since 2002, he has been a makeup artist at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for L.A. Opera. He spent years at the Pantages Theater with Wicked (Makeup & Prosthetics Supervisor), and Lion King (Principle Makeup Artist). And for 6 years, he was the resident Wig & Makeup Designer for Cabrillo Music Theater in Thousand Oaks. He started out his makeup career creating Halloween FX makeup for Universal Studios and Knott’s Berry Farm.
Although Paul is originally from Southern California, he spent much of his career working in New York City and touring the nation. Theatre also took him abroad for many years, working different theatrical productions in Austria, Japan, Switzerland, France, Holland, and a few European Tours.
Paul received his B.A. in Theater at Cal State University of Fullerton, with a technical theater and directing emphasis. He has taught in the theatre departments of CSU-Fullerton, Chaffey College, Cypress College, and Riverside City College.
