About the Faculty and Staff

Paul Hadobas
Adjunct Instructor

Paul has worked as a theatrical makeup artist throughout much of his 30 years in theater. He is currently a makeup artist at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for L.A. Opera, and he worked at the Pantages Theater and toured nationally with Wicked (Makeup & Prosthetics Supervisor), and Lion King (Principle Makeup Artist).

Paul has designed makeup (and/or wigs) for the productions of Jekyll & Hyde (Pre-Broadway Tour), Dorian (Denver Center), Disney's Hercules Spectacular (New Amsterdam Theater), Vox Lumiere's Phantom of the Opera and Hunchback of Notre Dame (Hal Prince Theater), as well as numerous regional and civic light opera productions. For 6 years, he was the resident Hair/Makeup Designer for Cabrillo Music Theater (Thousand Oaks). Paul started out his career creating Halloween FX makeup for Universal Studios and Knott's Berry Farm.

In other areas of theater, Paul has worked on Broadway as an actor, assistant stage manager, dance captain and makeup designer, and regionally as an art director, director, choreographer, and set designer. His popular reworking of Broadway's Jekyll & Hyde has been performed by over 50 theaters nationwide.

Paul has taught theatrical makeup at Cal State University of Fullerton, where he received his B.A. in theater with an emphasis in technical theater and directing.
