Outcomes and Assessment

Welcome to the Chaffey College Outcomes and Assessment web page. Chaffey College embraces the assessment of student learning and views it as one of the cornerstones of institutional effectiveness and student success.

Assessment of student learning outcomes is overseen by the Chaffey College Outcomes and Assessment Committee.  The Outcomes and Assessment Committee supports the mission of Chaffey College by nurturing a positive SLO culture and climate through empowering, training and assisting administrators, faculty and staff with the assessment process.

Outcomes and Assessment Monitoring Report

This monitoring report highlights progress along Chaffey’s Pathway to Proficiency from 2011 to 2015. Specifically, this report compares 2011-12 and 2015-16 course and program level SLO assessment activity for Instructional Programs and Student Services at Chaffey College.

SLO Templates

Part of the requirement to achieve proficiency in Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) is the completion of three supporting documents. These documents are the Chronological Assessment Plan (CAP), Curriculum Map and the Core Competency Matrix. The purpose of the CAP is to show that the SLO assessment in your program is ongoing and systematic. The purpose of the Curriculum Map is to show how courses in your program support your program level SLOs and how they articulate and complement each other. The Core Competency Matrix illustrates the link between your program SLOs and the Chaffey College Core Competencies.

Below you will find templates for each of these documents which need to be completed to achieve proficiency. If you have any questions regarding the completion of these documents please contact your SLO school facilitator or Marie Boyd (ext. 6968) or Angela Burk-Herrick (ext. 6409).
