MATCO'S REIGNING NHRA TOP FUEL WORLD CHAMPION BROWN TO VISIT STUDENTS AT CHAFFEY COLLEGE ON NOVEMBER 6 BEFORE FINALS
(RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA) Antron Brown, the NHRA world championship driver of the Matco Tools Top Fuel dragster, will visit students at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga on November 6 on the eve of the NHRA Finals at Pomona, Calif.
The former college track star at Mercer Community College in his home state of New Jersey will speak to Chaffey students about education and career choices before competing in the November 7-10 season finale at Auto Club Raceway
"I really enjoy the school visits we do for Matco (Tools)," said Brown, 37, who was crowned the NHRA champion a year ago at Pomona for Don Schumacher Racing. "I was like many of these students not too long ago when I was at Mercer College. It's nice to give back and speak to them about their career paths and the importance of focusing on education."
"These are the technicians and mechanics of tomorrow and it's great to meet the students and deliver a positive message. Chaffey is a new school for us to visit, and it's fun to see new faces and meet new students. It's great that Matco makes visits with students a top initiative for the company and our race team."
The Chaffey College visit will be the last seven vocational school visits this year for Brown as part of Matco's TechEd program. He will speak to three groups of students between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the automotive department at the Chaffey campus located at 5885 Haven Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga.
Brown has won four of his 41 career NHRA titles this year in his sixth full-time season competing in Top Fuel. He will arrive at Pomona second in points with a chance to defend his world title.
