CHAFFEY COLLEGE HOSTS 2012 FAMILY DAY AT THE WIG! EVENT
(Rancho Cucamonga) Chaffey College is hosting its annual Family Day at the Wig! on Sunday, April 15 from 10:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. on the Rancho Cucamonga campus. This year's event is much larger in scale than previous events coordinated by the Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art. The 2012 Family Day at the Wig! is a collaborative effort between the Wignall Museum, theatre department, and the college car club. Events include art exhibits, music and dance performances, hands on activities, food vendors, and a car show.
The car club and automotive technology department began hosting the Chaffey College car show in 2008 which attracts local car enthusiasts. This year's car show is expected to attract more cars than previous shows. Coordinators expect more than 100 collectible cars to be displayed including six Model "A" cars featured in the movie J. Edgar Hoover, along with one of the most expensive Pontiac TransAm vehicles.
Student actors will be performing "Everyone's Special...Everyone's Unique...Why Don't We All Just Get Along"; a production written, designed and performed by Chaffey College theatre students and directed by theatre professor, Christa El-Said. The performance will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the college theatre.
"We are so excited to be able to bring together many of the college's superior programs to create the 2012 Family Day at the Wig!," said Rebecca Trawick, director of the Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art. "The event is held welcome the community to the college and to showcase the outstanding contributions the college makes to the arts," she added.
