CHAFFEY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES 2013 GOVERNING BOARD OFFICERS

(Rancho Cucamonga, CA) The Governing Board for the Chaffey Community College District announced its officers for 2013. The announcement was made at the December Board meeting.

The 2013 Chaffey College Governing Board Officers are:
President - Kathy Brugger
Vice President - Lee McDougal
Clerk - Gary George
Member - Katie Roberts
Immediate Past President - Paul Gomez.

Kathy Brugger, who has 35 years of experience as a leader in education, was elected to serve as Governing Board president. She has been a member of the college's Governing Board since 1993. In her time on the board, Brugger has served as president in three times: 1999-2000, 2003-2004, and 2008-09. Prior to serving on the Chaffey College Governing Board, Brugger was a school board member on the Ontario-Montclair School District Board.

"I'm looking forward to the upcoming year leading the Chaffey College Governing Board," stated Brugger. It's an exciting time for Chaffey College and community colleges around the state as we continue to be innovative in providing opportunities to meet the needs of our students," she added.

Lee McDougal, retired city manager, will hold the vice president post. Gary George, retired external affairs manager will take the position of clerk. Katie Roberts, will serve as Governing Board member, and Paul Gomez who was the board president last year, will hold the title of immediate past president.

"These five individuals are extremely professional and truly dedicated to Chaffey College and our students," said Dr. Henry Shannon, superintendent/president. "The members of the Governing Board work exceptionally well together and as they take their new positions, I'm sure this upcoming year will be successful," stated Shannon.

The role of the governing board is to directly represent the community of the college's district in determining policies and making decisions which govern the operation of the district and the college.
