CHAFFEY COLLEGE SELECTS NEW ASSOCIATE SUPERINTENDENT OF INSTRUCTION AND INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS

(Rancho Cucamonga) – The Governing Board for the Chaffey College District recently appointed Meridith Randall as its new Associate Superintendent of Instruction and Institutional Effectiveness at its meeting this week.

Randall holds a juris doctor degree from New York University School Law, a master’s of arts in English from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in English from Amherst College.

“Meridith brings a wealth of experience to Chaffey College,” said Superintendent/President Dr. Henry Shannon. “After a comprehensive search, Meridith’s extensive background working in the California community college system and her passion for diverse communities, positioned her as the top candidate.”

Randall was most recently the Vice President of Instruction at Shasta College in Redding, Calif., a position she has held since 2012. Prior to that post, she was at Mendocino College in Ukiah, Calif., where she served in a variety of leadership positions, including: Vice President of Education and Student Services (July 2006-June 2012), Dean of Instruction (July 2002-July 2006), and as Assistant Dean of Instruction (July 2000-July 2002). She also worked internationally at Palau Community College as its Dean of Instruction (1996-2000) and as an English Instructor (1994-1996). Prior to working higher education, Randall served as a litigation attorney at a law firm in New York from 1990-1993.

“Chaffey College is known for its high student achievement rates, excellent faculty and supportive environment,” said Randall. “I am honored to be chosen by Superintendent/President Shannon and the Board of Trustees to join the leadership team, and I look forward to using my experience to serve students at Chaffey.  The community college mission  -- which is based on improving lives and communities -- has motivated me for 23 years and I hope to not just do my own best work at Chaffey, but also to support my colleagues in doing theirs.”

As Associate Superintendent of Instruction and Institutional Effectiveness, Randall will oversee Chaffey College’s educational programs and services for a student population of more than 20,000. She will also manage nearly 1,000 full- and part-time faculty under this position.

Randall is expected to start on July 11.
