Additional Interests / Associations
As a former student of Chaffey, it is exciting to return as a faculty member in the same department that helped me to become a better biologist and student. Upon graduation from high school, my first attempt at college began at CSU Fullerton. While it was exciting, the large class sizes were intimidating and relationships with fellow students were difficult to achieve. I transferred to Chaffey after completion of my first semester and found it to be exactly what I needed. The instructors knew my name and knew how to help me in school. Upon completion at Chaffey, I transferred to Cal State San Bernardino and earned my B.A. in Biology in Fall 1999. Immediately after, I began the graduate program at CSUSB and earned my M.S. in Biology in Spring 2002.

During my time as a graduate student, I was a graduate assistant at Cal State San Bernardino where I taught lab courses for General Biology and for the majors Bio 200 series. During my final year in grad school, I participated in an internship project through RCC and began teaching at the Riverside Campus. Upon graduation, I began teaching as a part-time instructor at Chaffey College in the Fall 2002, as well as continued teaching at RCC. CSUSB invited me to return as a part-time instructor. I have also taught part-time at San Bernardino Valley College. Courses I have taught include general biology, anatomy and physiology, ecology, organismal biology, and population biology.
